Eating Disorder Coaching

Relaxing visual representing freedom found working with Alexis

Eating disorder recovery is a beautiful, albeit challenging adventure. I know this from not only guiding dozens of clients through the process but also through my own experience of being recovered from anorexia and bulimia. The support you need during recovery evolves as your recovery evolves. Sometimes you may be looking for behavioral support such as meal planning, meal accountability or encouragement surrounding a meal; other times you may be looking for a more in-depth understanding surrounding your behaviors and coaching on how to change those behaviors.

Others find coaching in the context of a family to be particularly valuable in finding your voice and establishing trust. I work with clients to outline a customized plan helping them identify and achieve goals leading to a fulfilling life, no longer bound by the constraints of an eating disorder. I approach clients with a mindset believing full recovery is possible— recovery can be defined by peace with one’s body and relationships surrounding food and exercise.

Testimonials

“Through working with Alexis after years in “quasi-recovery”, I’ve begun overcoming challenges I didn’t even realise I was still dealing with. She has consistently shown up for me with compassion and grace, and knows just how to fearlessly challenge areas where the ED still limits me. She models the kind of recovery I aspire to, and for that I would highly recommend working with her.“ - Anonymous Client

“Alexis was great with collaboration & expressing her concerns/observations to the team, as well as following up with goals I set with my client in session. She did a lot of food exposures/supportive meals with my client & was also available for my client to text her whenever she needed support which was incredibly helpful! I would recommend her to anyone in need of additional eating disorder support through coaching.” - Erin Gilbert, RDN, CSO, LDN
